Phone (4b)

Nothing Phone (4b) is a surprise addition to Nothing's smartphone line-up. Nothing's first venture into a b-series device, the Phone (4b) is marketed towards lower budget, everyday users. The phone features a Glyph Bar, similar to that on the Phone (4a), albeit with less LEDs overall.

Phone (4b)’s tagline was “Eye Candy”.^[1]

The Phone (4b) was initially teased through a series of sketches on 23 June 2026, with a design reveal released on 25 June, 12 days before the full launch on 7 July.^[2,3] Pre-orders began on the same day, with open online sales beginning 17 July, with the exception of Flipkart in India, which began on 14 July. Globally, the phone was priced from £299 / ₹29,999 / €329 for the 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage variant, and a beefier 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage version was released in India, starting at ₹33,699.

Eager customers could get hands on with the device early, through drop events at Nothing Store Bengaluru on 7 July and Nothing Store Soho on 11 July.^[1]

Some internet users expressed confusion at Phone (4b)'s naming - something that Nothing have struggled with in the past with their Ear series - which lead co-founder, Akis Evangelidis, to release a statement on X, clarifying the naming convention:^[4]

It's simply a continuation of our naming system. Numbers represent generations, while letters indicate different product segments. The A Series has been our best-selling smartphone line, bringing the best of Nothing's design innovation while focusing on the features that matter most. The B Series builds on the success of the A Series by expanding into a new segment, while maintaining a clear product hierarchy. The A Series remains our most premium line below our flagship products, which doesn't carry a letter designation. This avoids overusing suffixes and provides a clearer naming structure as the portfolio expands.

Only seven days later, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis announced that Phone (4b) had quickly broken the record for Flipkart's best-selling smartphone, exceeding the day-one sales of every previous Nothing phone, and surpassing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro sales numbers combined.^[5]

Colour Options: Phone (4b) comes in three colours globally: Black, White and Blue. In India, an exclusive RCB edition was released in collaboration with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a professional cricket team in India. to celebrate the club’s historic second Indian Premier League title. Nothing has sponsored the team since 2025 and became Title Sponsor in 2026. The RCB edition of the phone was launched at Nothing Store Bengaluru and sold out within two hours of opening.^[6]

Back Design: Blending the design of the Phone (4a)'s Glyph Bar with the unibody design of the Phone (4a) Pro, the Phone (4b) features a solid rear panel with a transparent camera bump.

Front Display: A 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1,200 nits outdoor brightness, and 2,000 nits peak brightness. The phone features a 1,000Hz instant touch sampling rate and HDR10+ support, as well as 120 fps in BGMI and 90 fps in PUBG Mobile.^[1]

Build: A Dragontail Pro Glass screen, the phone is IP64 dust tight and water resistant and weighs 210g.^[7]

Processor: Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and a Adreno 810 GPU.

Memory: Available globally in a 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage configuration, an upgraded storage version of 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage was also released in India.

Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC (excluding India), Dual nano-SIM, USB-C 2.0, LTE and 5G band support.^[7]

Rear Camera: Phone (4b) features a 50 MP wide main camera with OIS, supporting 4K video at 30 fps. Its secondary camera is an 8 MP, 119° ultra-wide.

Front Camera: A 16 MP wide selfie camera capable of 1080p at 30fps video recording.

Speakers: Stereo output (no 3.5 mm jack).^[7]

Battery: 5,200  mAh for the global model and 6,000  mAh for Indian models - the highest battery capacity seen in a Nothing phone yet. Nothing claims a single charge can last up to two full days.

Charging: 33 W wired charging, reaching 50% in under 30 minutes and a full charge in just over an hour.^[1]

OS: Launches with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, with 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches.
